|How the AAOS Office
of Government Relations
is working for you…
- Worked with a coalition of stakeholders to develop a demonstration model through the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation that would allow physician-owned hospitals to expand if they meet certain quality and other criteria.
- Attended the meeting of the Health and Human Services Pain Management Best Practices Inter-Agency Task Force, where the group approved its final recommendations for acute and chronic pain management. AAOS also provided comments on the draft report.
- Celebrated the Florida Orthopaedic Society’s successful advocacy in getting the state legislature to pass a bill that will repeal burdensome certificate-of-need laws which have created barriers to new competition and to lowering costs.
